We chose ‘Lionsgate’ as our distributor because a lot of their films they have distributed have themes of violence and action and high stakes. Therefore our media product would be an ideal film to distribute with a different edge to their other movies, with it being about poker. A lot of their films are very masculine (films include 'The Gamer' and 'The Bank Job'), which is ideal for ours which targets the male audience.
‘Lionsgate’ are a well known established distributor therefore the film has a higher chance of great success in release and budget, making it profitable.
Our thriller would be classes as a 'medium budget thriller' which is similar to popular films they have distributed such as saw 1. 'Lionsgate' would find this appealing because less money would be spent on making the film and more spent on marketing and advertising the film, bringing more success and profit.
