What is a Thriller?

The genre ‘thriller’ has the intention to shock its audience. It is different from a Horror in that it is to keep the audience on the edge of their seats, keeping them waiting for the final answer. Usually a good thriller has a twist at the end that the audience are not expecting. When watching a thriller the audience tends to try and guess the hidden riddle/person/killer etc, therefore to make a good thriller it must keep the audience guessing and never be obvious. There are many types of thrillers, the most popular are these: Crime thrillers, Physiological thrillers, Conspiracy thrillers and Action thrillers.
